When I sat down to write my message to you in our last quarterly newsletter, I believed, as many of you may have, that the worst of the pandemic may be behind us. Little did I suspect that another wave of the virus was on the near horizon, or that so many more people would be affected. We are all Covid-weary and trying our best to continue with as normal a life as we can manage, but the ripple effect of the pandemic continues to challenge us in ways we never imagined possible - both personally and on a professional level. |

As a mission-critical, operations-critical supplier of equipment and services, we are expected to remain on duty and responsive to our customer’s needs — regardless of the circumstances. And we are continuing to work very hard to do just that. Unfortunately, there are market conditions that are out of our control that can impact our usual high standard of customer needs fulfillment. We, like so many other industries, are reliant on the availability of certain components — specifically semiconductor chips — that are used in the manufacturing (and in certain cases, repair) of wireless devices. These shortages, along with other supply chain disruptions, have created unprecedented product shipment delays. Equipment that typically shipped in 5-10 days is now taking anywhere from 12-16 weeks.
My message to you is that we are continually working on your behalf - by helping you anticipate future needs, by placing inventory orders for popular products to allow us to get into the delivery queue as early as possible and by constantly looking for creative ways to satisfy the more immediate needs of our valued customers while we all work through this global crisis. |
Now is not the time to be without reliable wireless devices and my advice is that you review your needs – 3 to 6 months in advance if possible – and initiate purchases in advance of those needs. If you have equipment that is currently in use, have it checked out to ensure it is working properly and up to manufacturer specifications to prevent equipment failure. |
We are all in this together and EMCI Wireless is here to assist you in any way possible. I want you to know that our commitment to continue to act as your trusted advisor is unwavering. And as always, thank you for placing your trust in us. |

In October of 2020, we were less than three months away from hosting Super Bowl 55 and our on-site communications needed a serious upgrade. We had been borrowing radios from a local law enforcement agency during events and were experiencing several issues that we knew would not be tolerable under the extreme demands of the Super Bowl. So, after considering several providers, we selected EMCI Wireless to partner with to provide the sophisticated solution our problems required. We selected EMCI because of their technical capabilities, their track record of successful installations and their strong relationship with Motorola Solutions. |
We collaborated with EMCI and Motorola to design a system that would provide 12 trunked talk paths using 6 digital repeaters that were placed to maximize coverage throughout Raymond James Stadium. This system allowed us to divide 300 portable radios into 16 different talk groups, allowing multiple departments to talk amongst themselves simultaneously. We also included a feature that allows us to establish an "all call" should the need arise to communicate instantly with all 300 users, no matter which talk group they are on. |
We were under a very tight timeline which meant EMCI would have to secure both the end user and infrastructure equipment, apply for and obtain the required FCC licenses, as well as stage, program, install and optimize the system with enough time left to train the users all before the Super Bowl. They met our deadlines, and we were using the new system to coordinate all the personnel and functions required to host the greatest sports event in the world. To ensure things went smoothly, EMCI went the extra distance by providing two on-site engineers to handle any technical issues that may arise during the event. Our relationship with EMCI and Motorola continues as we look to them to help us maintain the system and make additional enhancements as our needs grow. |
